A method of assembling for transport a bottle 3 having an externally tapered neck or base portion, and a drinking glass or vessel 2 having an internally flared rim, consists in placing drinking vessel over the tapered portion of the bottle with the interposition of a packing 1 of non-slipping material, such as cork, and then pressing or tapping the drinking vessel or bottle to wedge the packing firmly between the drinking vessel and the bottle.
