Abstract

1506359 Conveying and stacking packages on pallets CLAUDIUS PETERS AG 3 Dec 1976 [4 Dec 1975] 50630/76 Headings B8A and B8C In apparatus for stacking packages on to a pallet 14 there is a support means 25 for supporting each pallet 14 and a feeder conveyer 1 for conveying a stream of the packages; to a conveying means 7 for conveying the packages in two or more streams located across its width. Switching means 6 adjacent an input end of the conveying means 7 for receiving the stream of packages from said feeder conveyer is operable to direct each package into a selected stream. A collector conveyer 11 at the other end of said conveying means 7 is operable at at least two speeds. A delivery conveyer 12 for transferring packages from the collector conveyer 11 to a pallet 14 in the streamed arrangement, is arranged for longitudinal reciprocal motion during one cycle of which packages are received from the collector conveyer and then delivered to the pallet supported by the support means. A storage magazine 16 for empty pallets provides a fresh pallet for the support means 25 when a pallet has been loaded with stacked packages.
