Abstract

The equipment comprises a stock of empty pallets, a loading station and means of removing the loaded pallets. Pallets are delivered one-by-one to the loading station. The support rollers are raised to a level just beneath the end of the delivery conveyors. The table is then rotated in 90 deg. steps and lowered in steps corresponding to the thickness of a layer of sacks, so that sacks arriving along the conveyor are stacked according to a required arrangement depending on the shape and size of the pallets and sacks. Loaded pallets are then removed automatically. The arrangement of the sacks is so that no sack lies on only one sack beneath, this giving stable stacks.
