Abstract

1501105 Moulding tyres DUNLOP Ltd 18 April 1975 [29 April 1974] 18656/74 Heading B5A [Also in Division B7] A tyre comprises an extruded elastomeric tread strip 3 with edge portions 5, 6 of a differently coloured elastomeric material extending on to the sidewalls and overlapped by circumferentially extending cover strips 7, 8 of different colour from the edge portions. The cover strips and tread strip may be of the same colour. Alternatively the tread strip has only one differently coloured edge portion. After applying the tread strip to a tyre carcass and the cover strip or strips to the coloured edge portion or portions, the assembly is vulcanized.
