Abstract

1497476 Valves CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO Ltd 30 June 1976 [17 July 1975] 30053/75 Heading F2V Communication between an outlet 12, an inlet 4 and an exhaust outlet 13 in a governor valve, for controlling remote unloader means of a powered hydraulic system, is controlled by a ball 1 which is pressed by an adjustable loading spring 5 onto an inlet seat 2 and moved, at a predetermined system pressure, by inlet fluid acting on a piston 7 against an exhaust seat 3 to close the exhaust and allow inlet fluid to a remote pump unloader (not shown) connected to outlet 12. The piston 7 is a loose fit in its bore 8 to provide a restricted path for inlet fluid to the inlet seat orifice 6. The area of the inlet seat 2 is slightly less than the area of the piston 7 on which the system pressure acts which, in turn, is slightly less than the area of the exhaust seat 3 ensuring that the ball 1 is moved rapidly between the seats 2 and 3. A light spring 15 maintains contact between the piston 7 and ball 1.
