Abstract

1496928 Sliding clasp fasteners TEXTRON Ltd 26 Aug 1976 [11 Sept 1975] 37422/75 Heading E2S An automatically locking slider 10 has a body 11 with a passage 12 for the rows of fastener elements, and a cap 13 which is symmetrical about a laterally bisecting plane, and is pivotally mounted on body 11 by the engagement of lugs 15 in recesses 19 defined by shoulders 20, resilient arms 16, 17 of the cap engaging grooves 21, 22 such that arm 16 urges arm 17 through the open end of groove 22 to enter passage 12 and engage and lock the fastener elements. Pull member 23 raises cap 13 against spring arm 16 to disengage arm 17. In another form, Fig. 5, a separate spring arm member 36 has arms 37, 38 urged into grooves 40, 41 by a spring 35 mounted in the cap 30. Pull-bar 43 engages inclined portions 39 of spring 36 to disengage the locking arm.
