Abstract

1496604 Staircases METAL SERVICE CO INC 29 Aug 1975 [29 Aug 1974] 35717/75 Heading E1B A staircase comprises a number of prefabricated parts adapted to be bolted together in situ before the building is erected and includes at least one pair of stair flights 26 and 29, headers 50 and 52 having laterally extending portions for anchoring in the building longitudinally extending newels 40 and 42 for providing permanent support, a platform 20 for each pair of flights pivotable from a vertical to a horizontal position after installation and a plurality of temporary supports 66, 67, 101, 102, 103 which are removable after the building has been erected. The platforms are secured to the stair flights by curved threaded rods fixed thereto and passing through apertures in the stair flights. The platform has a header 99 at the end remote from the stair flights.
