Abstract

1496486 Two-part couplings J A CRABTREE & CO Ltd 9 Dec 1974 [8 Dec 1973] 35042/77 Divided out of 1496485 Heading H2E The disclosure is similar to that of parent Specification but the claims are concerned with the provision on the insulating sleeve of resiliently deformable means to position and retain the pins in the base. Two further embodiments are disclosed, see Figs. 8 and 10. In these embodiments a sleeve 44, 84 respectively is provided which overlies a portion of the pin shank of reduced cross-section so as to lie flush with the shank free end portion. In the Fig. 8 embodiment the pin 34 terminates in a threaded stud 35 onto which a head 36 is screwed, the pin being retained in the plug base by engagement between the head and a recess 60 in which it sits, and a pair of flaps 52 which engage shoulders 59 in the base. In the Fig. 10 embodiment the pin terminals in a projection 75 which is T-shaped in cross-section and onto which a head 76 having a complementary slot 77 can be slid. Engagement between head 76 and a recess 100 in which it sits prevents relative movement of the head 76 and projection 75 and together with a pair of flaps 92, see Fig. 11 (not shown), retains the pin in the plug.
