Abstract

1495667 Dyeing cellulose HOECHST AG 21 Feb 1975 [22 Feb 1974] 7475/75 Heading D1B Textile materials in web form comprising cellulose fibres are dyed by applying an alkaline aqueous liquor comprising a reactive dye and a coupling component, fixing the reactive dye on the material followed by applying to the material an acidic aqueous liquor containing a diazo compound of a primary aromatic amine. The alkaline aqueous liquor may be applied by a padding process at room temperature the reactive dye being fixed by dwelling in the wet state at temperatures up to 60‹C or by drying the material at temperatures above 100‹C. In a modification of the invention the alkaline liquor also contains a stabilised alkali resistant diazoamino compound and after the reactive dye fixation the material is treated with an acid.
