Abstract

1494416 Measuring gear-wheels GETRIEBEFABRIK COSWIG VEB 26 Aug 1975 [30 Aug 1974] 35164/75 Heading G1M A rolling error spur gear testing device, Fig. 1, comprises a motor rotated support 9 on which the spur wheel 2 to be tested is mounted, a master gear 4 mounted on a slidable carriage 3 and provided with a brake 6 to ensure single flank engagement of the gear teeth without backlash, and measurement transmitters 7 associated with recorders 8. By controlled adjustment of the wheel 2 relative to the support 9 the pattern of deviations due to eccentric drilling of the spur wheel and skew clamping may be reduced from the error pattern in Fig. 2 to that of Fig. 3a and an equal pattern of error is obtained for each 180 degrees phase of rotation of the wheel 2. When the error has been reduced to an acceptable pattern a central recess 11 is ground into the wheel 2, Fig. 4, to be coaxial and concentric with the adjusted axis of rotation of the wheel 2 the grinding being carried out while the wheel 2 is held in its adjusted position.
