Associated counters, trip and total and like.- A gas meter is provided with a dial or an inter changeable set of dials graduated in thermal units, mounted so as to be readily detachable the pointer may be mounted so as readily to be brought back to zero from any position; one of these elements is operated from the volumetric mechanism. As shown, a dial E secured by screws is placed within a hinged and sealed glass casing next to the usual set of dials reading in cubic feet, and its pointer is operated through a worm and toothed gearing from the driving spindle of the usual mechanism; the pointer is adjustably fastened on its spindle by a screw F<2>. Alternatively, the pointer may be held on its spindle frictionally. A hole may be provided in the glass front for the introduction of a key whereby the pointer is re-set.
