Abstract

149,396. Evans, G., and Cresci, V. May 6, 1919. Pliers and cutters.- The jaws of pliers for use in holding round-headed bolts while the nuts are being removed therefrom are provided with transverse recesses 6, which form sharp edges 7 and are concaved both transversely and longitudinally to conform to the shape of the bolt head, and are also provided with longitudinal teeth 9. The jaws are offset laterally from the plane of the handles so as to facilitate use in difficultly accessible positions. The handles are adjustably pivoted together, as shown. Wire-cutting jaws 10 may be provided. The bolt head may be gripped by the front ends of the jaws, as shown, or by their side edges.
