Abstract

1493187 Solar heat collectors R PRICE 8 July 1976 [22 April 1975] 16489/75 Heading F4U A flat panel solar heat collector comprises a sinuous passage 14 for the passage of a fluid from an inlet port 15 to an outlet port 16 above a thermally insulating layer 11, the passage being formed by partition members 13 upstanding from a solar energy absorption layer 12 which co-operate with the lower surface of a second absorption layer 17 spaced from an upper cover 18 of opaque material. The insulation layer 11 is of foam insulating material housed within a glass fibre tray 10 and the upper surface of the layer 17 is rendered uneven.
