Abstract

1492638 Core constructions SIEMENS AG 22 April 1975 [24 April 1974] 16688/75 Heading H2A One pole of each pole pair in an electric motor comprises a dished permanent magnet 3 and the other comprises a non-magnetized ferromagnetic member 2 formed by bending and having a radial thickness less than that of the magnet, the member 2 being housed in a flux return member 1 which is shaped in the region of the member 2 as though it were to receive a further dished magnet. As shown, the magnet 3 and member 2 are retained in position by a spring 4 and tabs 11, 12 pressed out of the housing 1 which acts as the flux return member.
