Abstract

1492495 Load responsive brake valves CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO Ltd 27 May 1976 [4 June 1975] 24122/75 Heading F2F A load responsive valve O for the brakes of a twin axle vehicle rear wheel assembly is connected by a linkage N, L, J to the suspension of the two axles R 1 , R 2 so that the valve is responsive to the mean displacement of the two axles. The axle R 1 is mounted on a leaf spring connected at one end to the chassis. The axle R 2 is mounted on a lever G pivoted at F to the chassis, and connected to the free end C of the leaf spring. The arm J of the linkage is connected at one end to the point C, which moves in accordance with movement of the axle R 2 , and intermediate its ends by a link to the axle R 1 . The link K is positioned so that the displacement of the end M is proportional to the mean vertical displacement of the two axles.
