Abstract

1490653 Thermal storage ITEK CORP 24 Jan 1975 [19 Feb 1974] 3148/75 Heading F4U [Also in Division G2] When heating lamps 31 and 32 are first switched on, or are supplied with low power only, they are surrounded by insulation bodies 21, 22 which line lid 15 and body 14. In consequence they heat up quickly. The lid and body are separated before the lamps reach full temperature, and are moved towards belt 12 by movement about hinge 23. During the time taken to complete heating of the lamps toner images 26 receive radiant heat from the bodies 21, 22 which act as heat reservoirs and compensate for the as-yet deficient output of the lamps.
