Abstract

1490132 Engine radiator and cooling fan assembly INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO 14 Jan 1975 [28 Jan 1974] 1534/75 Heading F1B [Also in Division B7] In an engine assembly comprising an I.C. engine 24, a radiator 26 and a fan shroud assembly, wherein the engine 24 rotates a fan 34; the radiator 26, and the fan shroud assembly are rigidly mounted to the engine 24 to inhibit displacement of the fan 34 with respect to the shroud assembly by engine vibration. The shroud assembly has a cylindrical throat section 68 of axial length CF, a radially expanding section 66 of radius R and a flat flange 64 with a difference RF between its inner and outer diameters. The dimensions are limited by the following relationships (within Π12%) RF = AW/3, CF = AW/3 and R = 2AW/3 where AW is the projected axial width of the fan blades see Fig.2.
