Abstract
1489620 Turbocharges - turbine casings KOMATSU SEISAKUSHO KK 31 Dec 1974 [30 April 1974] 56192/74 Headings F1G and FIT The turbine casing 1 of an exhaust gas turbocharger is formed with a baffle 3 within the inlet volute, the baffle 3 being inclined at angle α to a plane normal to the turbine axis. Two gas inlet ducts 4 and 5 are thus formed, the further walls 6 and 7 of the ducts being inclined at angles # and γ to the normal planes as shown. The two inlet ducts merge with each other within the inlet casing at a position spaced from the rotor 2 so as to provide a region common to the two gas flow-paths, the narrowest point of the region being disposed adjacent the periphery of the rotor.
