Abstract

1488484 I.C. engine cooling circuits CHRYSLER UNITED KINGDOM Ltd 1 Nov 1974 [1 Nov 1973] 50793/73 Heading F4U A header, expansion tank or pressure relief tank 10 for coolant radiators and particularly radiators for motor vehicles has a filler opening 13 in an upper part which is closed by a cap (not shown) and a pipe 15 extending downwardly into the tank in which at least one bleed opening is formed and located towards the upper end of the pipe to permit gradual equalization between the liquid levels in and outside the pipe. The bleed opening may be formed integrally with a pressure relief valve 23, and a one way valve, e.g. a float valve may be forced in the pipe, Fig. 8, not shown.
