Abstract

1485131 Filter cigarettes MOLINS Ltd 17 June 1975 [19 June 1974] 27089/74 Heading A2C A cigarette comprises a tobacco section 1 a filter portion 2 and a wrapper, section 6 which partly overlaps the filter portion to join to the tobacco section. Such a cigarette is produced by feeding spaced wrapper sections on a conveyor 46 and moved past an adhesive applicator 48 which applies adhesive to the ends of each wrapper section. A device 28 then places filter portions 24 on the conveyor so that each filter portion overlaps two wrapper sections. Tobacco sections 14 are then fed onto the wrapper sections between the filter portions. The filter portions, tobacco sections and wrapper sections are then passed through a garniture 32. The tobacco sections are produced by apparatus similar to that described in Specification 1476931.
