Abstract

1485115 Timber preservative FOSROC AG 14 Aug 1974 [15 Aug 1973 1 March 1974 11 June 1974] 38648/73 and 9474/74 and 25911/74 Heading A5E [Also in Division Dl] A preservative composition for impregnating timber by the double vacuum process comprises a preservative in an organic solvent and also an air oxidising resin or oil e.g. a long oil alkyd resin. The solvent may be a petroleum hydrocarbon e.g. white spirit, a chlorinated hydrocarbon or a liquified butane or propane. The preservative may be fungicide or insecticide tributyl tin oxide, gamma benzene hexachloride and pentachlorophenol being exemplified. Exemplified compositions also contain methyl ethyl ketoxine and a water repellant.
