Abstract

1484935 Steam pressing of garments NORMBAU GmbH MASCHINEN-APPARATE-WERKZEUGE & CO KG MASCHINENFABRIK 19 Nov 1974 [22 Nov 1973] 50090/74 Heading D1A In a pressing machine is provided a vertically adjustable steaming and blowing dummy comprising a central mould element 11 shaped to accomodate the collar, centre back, reveres and button and button hole strip of a garment and, adjustable relative thereto, two lateral moulds 29, 30 mirror images of one another to fit into the shoulders, upper sleeve and chest portions of the garment. Perforated element 11 is detachably secured to element 6 which is raised and lowered by piston rod 5 and held in position by a bolt 28 engaging one of holes 8, 8', 8" of clamp device 14 with a sliding pressure piece 15 presses the button and button hole strips against region 13. The lateral perforated elements 29, 30 are carried on the ends of pairs of levers 37, 38, 39, 40 pivotted together at 48, 49 and having their inner ends respectively attached to element 6 and a slidable sleeve 10. Pivots 48, 49 are so arranged along the levers that the angle between the shoulder and the horizontal is substantially constant. Sleeve 10 is movable through a linkage by an adjusting lever 50 lockable in position by pawl 54 and detent plate 55. The dummy is enclosed in a cover 34 extensible laterally and permeable to 'steam and air. Means (16), (17), (18), (19) hold the lower edge of the garment Fig. 1 (not shown). Elements 29, 30 may carry adjustable breast portions 58, 59 for use in pressing ladies garments.
