Abstract

148,491. Defawe, J. E. June 19, 1919, [Convention date]. Impulse and reaction meters; balancing moving parts.-A rotary meter, balanced against axial thrust, comprises two disks 17, 18 having central chambers 20, 21 and reaction passages 13, 14 arranged on opposite sides of a solid disk 22. The water to be measured enters the casing through a pipe 1 and a strainer 2, and is delivered axially to the opposite rotor chambers 20 by fixed nozzles 9, 10, the water discharged from the rotor passing out through a pipe 19.
