Abstract

The alloy contains 1-8% by weight of Al and 2-30% by weight of Cr, the remainder being at least Fe and impurities. Vibrations and noises from equipment are absorbed by the alloy. The figure opposite shows the temperature characteristic of the damping capacity of an alloy (3) according to the invention and of an alloy according to the state of the art (7). The alloy is produced by melting, forming and heat-treating at 700-1200 DEG C. <IMAGE>
