Abstract
929,687. High temperature alloys; heat treatment. INTERNATIONAL NICKEL CO. (MOND) Ltd. Feb. 21, 1962 [Feb. 28, 1961], No. 7316/61. Class 82. An alloy particularly suitable for gas turbine parts contains in percentage by weight:- The iron and niobium contents are so correlated that they lie within the area ABCDE in the accompanying drawing. The alloys are solution treated at 900-1200 C. for¢ -8 hours and oil-quenched or air-cooled, after which they are aged in the range 600-850 C. A two-stage ageing treatment is also referred to, consisting of 2-4 hours at 750-850 C., air cooling and then 16-40 hours at 680-720 C.
