Alloys.-Ferro-chromium, low in carbon or in carbon and silicon, is made by transferring molten high-carbon ferro-chromium from a blast furnace into a converter, which may be acid-lined, and blowing therein with or without the addition of lime or other basic materials, or the injection of steam or other gas or vapour into the blast.
