Abstract
1483793 Viewing apparatus; laser range finder LICENTIA PATENT VERWALTUNGS GmbH 2 Aug 1974 [3 Aug 1973] 34237/74 Headings H4F and H4D Viewing apparatus for use with a laser range finder employing the gated-viewing method, comprises a double-sided mirror 4 movable between a first position (not shown) which allows an optical image to pass directly from objective 1 to a video amplifier tube 2 and optical viewing device 3, and a second position (shown) in which it reflects the image passed by objective 1 via an image converter 6, prism 7, objective 8, prism 9 and the other mirror surface of mirror 4 to video amplifier tube 2 and device 3. The converter 6 is arranged to produce an optical image from a laser light image which is acceptable to the tube 2 which operates in the spectral range 400-900 nm.; the sensitivity of converter 6 extends up to approximately 1200 nm. The converter 6 specifically comprises an image converter tube operating as a short-time shutter tube. Video tube 2 may be replaced by a television pick-up tube which is coupled with a monitor.
