Abstract

1482999 Track brakes AUGUST THYSSENHUTTEAG 9 Dec 1974 [15 Dec 1973] 53069/74 Heading F2E A brake beam for a beam-type rail brake has a contact surface comprising a series of spaced wear pieces 2 secured to the beam with the interposition of an oscillation damping material 4 such as rubber, plastics or foamed material. Further damping material 5 may be disposed between the pieces 2. The pieces 2 may be bolted to the beam 1 (Fig. 2, not shown) or secured resiliently thereto by bolts 3 with nuts and spring washers 6 (Fig. 3).
