1482497 Railway bogies USINES DE BRAINE LE COMTE SA 12 Sept 1975 [9 Dec 1974] 37639/75 Heading B7L A railway three-axle bogie comprises side frames 2, 3 welded to end cross-ties 4, 5, or central cross-tie 6 and to intermediate cross-ties 7, 8 all elements of the side frames and cross-ties being made with welded elements. The wheel axle shafts 10 are mounted in axle boxes 15 having fore and aft arms 13, 14 each carrying a pair of coaxial springs supporting the bogie frame, one of which springs is shorter than the other so that when a vehicle body, carried by the bogie, is empty only one spring of each pair is loaded whereas when the body is loaded both springs are loaded.
