Abstract
1477562 Spray-producers PUREX CORP 26 Aug 1975 [20 Sept 1974] 35232/75 Heading B2F [Also in Division F2] A drive for orbital nozzles 31 comprises a housing 10 having a fluid inlet 13 and containing a fluid driven impeller 20 from which fluid flows through a passage 21 within the housing, harmonic speed reducing mechaniism 54 in the housing comprising an inner flexible rotating gear having teeth 76 meshing with teeth 81 of an outer relatively rigid gear, a rotating wave generator 64 driven by the impeller 20 and operable to flex the inner gear in wave sequence, an output shaft 32 driven by the inner gear, and a T shaped member 41 secured to the shaft 32 and carrying hollow, lateral members 42 through which fluid is conveyed to the rotatably mounted nozzles 31. The wave generator 64 is coupled to the impeller shaft 28 by a coupling sleeve 55 and comprises radially flexible raceways 68, 69 spaced by bearings 70. Raceway 69 is adhered to the inside of the mouth of a cup-shaped flexspline 71, which is secured to output shaft 32 by a screw 24, and radially flexible gear 75 is adhered to the outside of the mouth of the flexspline 71.
