Abstract

1477182 Heat treating copper-nickel alloys VEREINIGTE DEUTSCHE METALLWERKE AG 9 Sept 1974 [12 Sept 1973] 39294/74 Heading C7A [Also in Division B3] A spring material containing in percentage by wt. is solution treated above 900‹C, finally coldworked with a reduction of at least 40% in crosssection, and aged at 350-600‹C for at least 1À5 minutes. In a particular process to produce a modulus of elasticity above 18000 kg/mm<SP>2</SP> limit of flexural stability > 90 kg/mm<SP>2</SP> and spring characteristic stable to > 400‹C, the solution treated alloy is cooled to below 350‹C at less than 150‹C at less than 15‹C/hour, cooled to room temperature, worked to produce at least 60% reduction in cross-section, and aged at 450-600‹C.
