Abstract

1450355 Heat-treating steel rails FRIED KRUPP HUTTENWERKE AG 17 Jan 1974 [20 Jan 1973] 02248/74 Heading C7A An untempered steel rail is obtained by hotrolling a steel containing in percentage by wt. air cooling to form a bainite structure, and then annealing for up to 1 hour at 450-600‹C whereby without reduction in tensile strength the yield point is reduced by at least 5 kg/mm<SP>2</SP> and preferably at least 10 kg/mm<SP>2</SP>. The rail is then allowed to cool.
