Abstract

1476677 Toner concentration control XEROX CORP 19 Nov 1974 [26 Dec 1973] 49965/74 Heading G2H A toner concentration control device comprises magnetic brush developing means 20 which collects developer from a sump 24, carries it past an electrically conductive trimmer bar 34 and in the process a circuit is completed, causing shorting, if insufficient toner particles, which are insulative, are present. A dispensing device is activated by the circuit when a given number of shorts is achieved in unit time. The time characteristics are adjustable using a variable resistor. Lifting unit 22 attracts particles from developing means 20 and returns them, via agitating baffles, to the sump 24.
