Abstract

1473408 Hoppers discharges HOSOKAWA FUNTAI KOGAKU KENKYUSHO KK 20 Dec 1974 55244/74 Heading B8S An apparatus for feeding powdered material at a controlled rate comprises a feed tube 5 to deposit the material on to a series of vibratory receiving members 24, 34, 35 of which all but the lowermost member have a central aperture 37, 38 the members are arranged concentric with the feed tube and are connected rigidly together by bolts 36. The lowermost member 24 is mounted on a vibrator which may be electrical or mechanical. In one form the vibrator comprises a coil 29 mounted on a magnetic core 28 held spaced from a magnetic bar 45 on the underface of the lowermost member 24. The core 28 is mounted on a platform 26 and a pair of plate springs 25, (25<SP>1</SP>), Fig. 2 (not shown), support the lowermost member. The vibrations may be up and down, side to side, angular or any combination thereof. The position of the feed tube 5 is adjustable by threaded bolts 21 with pinions 20 rotated by a gear ring 19 with handles 23. The apparatus may have only one apertured receiving member in addition to the lowermost member 24. The feed tube and the receiving members may be triangular, square or polygonal cross-section. The feed tube receives the powdered material from a hopper 4 although a bag filter or cyclone collector may be used.
