1472209 Laminates SHAPLAND & PETTER Ltd 24 Oct 1975 [1 Nov 1974] 47431/74 Heading B5N A fire resistant structure, e.g. a door or partitioning, comprises a sheet of timber 11 made up of strips 12, 13 of wood, e.g. cedar, laminated together, a sub-facing 14 of flexible material having a fire resistance greater than wood, e.g. asbestos paper or metal foil, on each of the faces of the timber sheet and outer facings 15 on the sub-facings. The outer facings may comprise plywood with or without a decorative finish, e.g. of plastics material, wood veneer or paint. The sheet of timber may comprise one portion of which the strips of wood 12 extend in a direction at right angles to the direction of the strips 13 of an adjacent portion.
