Abstract
1470945 Benzodioxolones, benzimidazolones and benzoxazolones SNAMPROGETTI SpA 18 June 1975 [25 June 1974] 26044/75 Heading C2C Compounds of the formula where R<SP>1</SP> to R<SP>4</SP> are hydrogen or substituents or two adjacent members of R<SP>1</SP> to R<SP>4</SP> are joined to form a ring fused to the benzene ring; and X and Y are -O- or -NR-, where R is hydrogen, alkyl or aryl, are made by reacting a compound where A and B are -OH, -NH 2 or -NHR<SP>11</SP> (R<SP>11</SP> being alkyl or aryl) with an alkyl carbonate, the reaction being carried out in the liquid phase. Some of the compounds (I) have antioxidant and corrosion inhibiting properties and can be used in photographic products.
