Abstract

1470141 Vessels JAMES MAK 29 Sept 1975 [9 Jan 1975] 911/75 Heading A4A [Also in Division G1] An eating and/or drinking utensil comprises a vessel for containing a food or drink, and a thermometer 3 built into the vessel for determining the temperature of the food or drink. The thermometer 3 comprises a scale 5a divided into sections 8, 9, 10 each corresponding to a respective temperature range, a pointer 4 movable across the scale 5a in direct response to the temperature of the contents of the vessel, and a further scale 11 behind scale 5a for denoting the actual temperature in degrees of the contents of the vessel. As described, the scale 5a is marked on a disc 5 held in position by a nut 7, unscrewing of the nut 7 allowing the disc 5 to be rotated so that a section 8, 9, 10 coincides with a desired temperature reading. The sections 8, 9, 10 may be of different colours and marked "cold", "warm", and "hot" respectively, the disc 5 being beneath a transparent cover 6. The utensil may be in the form of a cup, bowl, plate or feeding bottle for a baby and may be of plastics material and provided with a lid.
