Abstract

1469735 Container closures FIDENZA VETRARIA SpA 29 Jan 1975 [8 Feb 1974] 3915/75 Heading B8T A closure assembly for hermetically sealing a container comprises a ring nut 1 provided with an internally threaded side wall having a window 3 in the form of a slot, a stopper 12 and a sealing gasket 11. The stopper is formed with a shoulder 8, an upper groove 9 and a lower groove 10. When assembled, the gasket fits in groove 10 and the ring nut in groove 9. To unseal a container where the contents are under vocuo, the ring nut is partially unscrewed, a knife or similar tool inserted through the window 3 to lift the gasket 11 and after equalization of internal and external pressures the closure can be unscrewed completely from the container, the component parts of the closure remaining assembled. Preferably, the ring nut is made of plastics, the stopper of glass and the gasket of rubber.
