Abstract

An H-shaped bracket 24 with an apron piece 31 is welded to the flush plate 17 to provide a seating on the column 11 for the beam 34. The flush plates 17, 37 may be anchored to ties or reinforcement embedded in the column or beam respectively. Longitudinal reinforcement in the column may terminate in a screw socket 52 into which is fixed a screw threaded bar 50 keyed under projecting reinforcement 48 in the top of the beam which bar and projecting reinforcement is subsequently embedded in cast concrete. Alternatively an angle bracket may be bolted to sockets in each of the column and beam surfaces which requires no subsequent casting of concrete.
