Abstract
1467685 Sliders for sliding clasp fasteners YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 16 Sept 1974 [29 Sept 1973] 40217/74 Heading E2S A concealed slide fastener comprises a slider 10 having a body 11 with a front end 12 and a rear end 13, a separator 17 mounted centrally at the front end of the body, and a generally Y-shaped guide channel formed by the separator in combination with a pair of flanges 15, 15 formed along parts of the respective marginal edges of the body and a pair of lips 16, 16 extending inwardly from the tops of the respective flanges for guiding therethrough the rows of interlocking fastener elements of the concealed slide fastener to couple or uncouple the same, the slider body having a generally flat bottom plate 14 a front end portion 12 of which has a portion which is defined by a pair of generally parallel, spaced-apart lateral edges the spacing of which is the maximum width of said front end portion of said plate 14. Also, according to the invention, the spacing of the lateral edges is substantially equal to the sum of the width of the separator and the combined widths of the respective rows of fastener elements to be guided through the guide channel, the maximum width portion extending forwardly beyond the flanges 15, 15 and lips 16, 16 to receive and guide said rows of fastener elements towards said guide channel. In use, when lateral pulling forces are exerted upon an article 23, fittted with a concealed sliding clasp fastener and provided with a fold 24, Fig. 5, the raised folded portions 25, which form and turn towards the slider, do not seriously obstruct the movement of the slider along the fastener elements 18.
