Abstract
1461060 Valves I J R COOKMAN 21 May 1975 22000/75 Addition to 1255860 Heading F2V [Also in Division B1] The decanting valve of the parent Specification is modified in that the valve shell 3 is fitted, at the level of each valve disc, with an internal liner ring 30a that mates with the valve disc periphery 25a and has an aperture 32 registering with the associated shell port, the liner ring and/or the mating valve disc periphery being formed with a circumferential clearance space defined between lands. The latter, in the arrangement shown, are formed at 34 on the liner ring 30a, but in a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) are formed (at 26) on the valve disc periphery (25). The liner may be removably secured by bolts 35. Each shell port may be defined by a radial stub 36 slidably containing a tubular P.T.F.E. seal 37 urged into engagement with valve disc periphery 25a by a spring 38 acting between screwed cap 40 and a flange 41 on tubular carrier 39. Seal 37 and flange 41 have mating castellations 43 and carrier 39 is slotted at 44 to enable the seal to be rotated for proper mating with periphery 25a.
