1460284 Fibrous cement mouldings PORTLAND ZEMENTWERKE HEIDELBERG AG 25 Oct 1973 49778/73 Heading C1H The solidification of moulded fibrous cement elements is accelerated by treating the element, while it is still soft, with gaseous carbon dioxide so that heat of neutralization accelerates hydration of the cement. The treatment can be carried out in either a chamber or an autoclave, either at super atmospheric pressure or after exposure to a vacuum. The fibres in the element can be of glass, steel or asbestos; the treatment with carbon dioxide reduces the alkaline attack on glass fibres.
