Abstract

1459807 Process for making cephalexin PROTER SpA 27 May 1975 23145/75 Heading C3S [Also in Division C2] In the title process, the 7-amino analogue is silylated in acetonitrile using a hexaalkyldisilazane or an N<SP>1</SP>,N<SP>2</SP>-bis-(trialkylsilyl)urea, the silyl ester condensed with D-PhCH(NH 2 )CO 2 H, HCl in presence of urea, and water is added to the acetonitrile solution to hydrolyse the silyl ester of the desired product.
