Abstract

1458921 Apparatus for heating and discharging aggregate O VAANANEN 19 March 1974 [20 March 1973] 12062/74 Heading F4U In apparatus 1 for heating and discharging aggregate for the manufacture of concrete, warm air passes upwardly from a blower/heater 5 while the aggregate flows downwardly and out through a discharge opening 6. The blower heater 5 blows the warm air through a duct 8 into the lowermost member 3 of a vertical stack of downwardly-open inverted V-shaped members 3, 4, each member being at right angles to the next. The warm air passes under the edges of member 3 and upwardly into the upper members 4. Each member 4 is open at both ends and terminates adjacent the position at which is crosses another member 4. Member 3 extends across the entire width of a discharge funnel. The members 4 are supported both by vertical beams 2 and the member 3. Dust from the dry aggregate at the opening 6 is drawn into the blower/heater 5 and blown back into the apparatus.
