Abstract

1458483 Surgical drainage tubes C BURRI L KINZL A MULLER and D WOLTER 3 Jan 1975 [3 Jan 1974] 230/75 Heading A5R A drain for medical suction drainage consists of a tube having a non-apertured portion 1 for connection to suction and an apertured opposite end for insertion in a wound, the apertures 3 being arranged in longitudinal rows spaced by 90‹ or 180‹ about the tube axis and increasing in area towards the tube end, the edges 5 of the apertures being rounded. In a modified embodiment the apertures are all of equal area but the spacing between adjacent apertures in a row decreases linearly towards the tube end.
