Abstract

1456290 Electrostatic coating apparatus GEMA AG APPARATEBAU 30 Aug 1974 [13 Sept 1973] 38117/74 Heading B2L In electrostatic coating apparatus comprising a nozzle 11 through which particles are propelled by a gas past at least two electrodes 15, 16, the potential difference between the electrodes is maintained substantially constant by a stabilizing stage 35 between the electrodes and an adjustable highvoltage generator 19. As shown the stibilizing stage comprises a diode 35 operating at its breakdown voltage and pairs of electrodes 13, 15 and 14, 16 are connected by lines 28 and 30 to different stages of a cascade voltage multiplier or generator 19 with an adjustable A.C. voltage source 20. Alternatively, the electrodes are connected to an ohmic voltage divider 37 (Fig. 2) in which the diode 35 shunts two resistors 36 between the lines 28 and 30.
