Abstract
1456057 Removal of organics from gases ELEKTROKEMISKA AB 8 Nov 1974 [16 Nov 1973] 48371/74 Heading C1A Odorous organic substances are removed from waste gases by washing with an acid or alkaline aqueous solution containing from 1 to 10% by weight of hydrogen peroxide, the organic substances being oxidized completely or in the greater part to compounds which are absorbed in the washing solution. The odorous substances may be amines, aldehydes or mercaptans. The temperature range for the treatment may be from 0 to 100 C. and preferably from 10 to 40 C. The preferred concentration of hydrogen peroxide is from 2 to 4% by weight. Other substances which do not react with the hydrogen peroxide may be added to the washing liquid including those which remove other special components or those which expedite washing. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,393,415.
