Abstract

The device serves for burning cement raw material in a dry process for producing clinker, the calcination of the raw material taking place predominantly outside a rotary kiln. The device comprises a shaft preheater with two parallel branches, a calcining chamber (5), a rotary kiln (1) and a clinker cooler (4). The waste gases from the rotary kiln are fed to one branch and the waste gases from the calcining chamber are fed to the other branch. The calcining chamber (5) is coaxially connected directly to the shaft (2) of the preheater branch of the calcining chamber. In addition, the pipe (9) for discharging the preheated raw material from the shaft (3) of the preheater branch of the rotary kiln (1) is connected to the pipe (7) for the preheated air, leading into the calcining chamber (5). In the calcining chamber, good thorough mixing and spreading of the raw material takes place, so that the entire cross-section thereof is utilised. <IMAGE>
