Abstract

1453098 Colour separation printing FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 30 Oct 1973 [30 Oct 1972] 50448/73 Heading G2M A colour separation printing plate is prepared from a multi-colour original by employing a direct screening process, without masking, using a gray contact screen having a density range of greater than 2À0. The Examples describe (1) using the screening process to form a lith negative, using this to form a lith positive and using this to expose a positive-acting presensitized plate, (2) using the screening process to expose an integral material for the silver salt diffusion transfer process, transfer-developing to form a silver image in the receiving layer, removing the negative emulsion layer and etch-bleaching, and (3) using the screening process to expose a silver halide material and tan-developing. The plates are particularly for use with a yellow ink, a magenta ink in which Drb/Drr # 2À5 when Drg = 1À5 and a cyan ink in which Dbg/Dbb # 2.5 when Dbr = 1.5 (in which Drb, Drg and Drr are the reflection densities of the magenta ink at 400-500 nm, 500-600 nm and 600-700 nm respectively, and Dbb, Dbg and Dbr are the corresponding reflection densities of the cyan ink.
