Abstract

145,299. Thorssell, C. T., and Lunden, H. L. R. Aug. 14, 1919. Alkali and alkaline-earth cyanides.-Cyanides are produced in a beat-insulated reaction chamber 1 by means of compressed nitrogen admitted by a pipe 2. The exit gases pass by pipes 2, 3 to an expansion engine 4 which drives a pump 5 for forcing compressed nitrogen into a second reaction chamber 1, the two chambers thus working alternately. The gases discharged from the engine 4 are led by a pipe 6 to a gas burner or combustion engine for utilizing the, carbon monoxide.
